“OF late, Walvis Bay has not been entirely ours, but we are busy reclaiming it. Our opponents are panicking and resorting to dirty strategies to tarnish the image of the Mighty Swapo Party.”
Recently, Swapo Party vice president and presidential candidate Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah addressed a well-attended rally at Walvis Bay, which saw prominent Affirmative Repositioning (AR) members returning to the Swapo fold, including AR’s regional head, Knowledge Iipinge.
Swapo members are now alleging that the chaos during the distribution of food parcels at the conclusion of the rally was the result of covert actions orchestrated by the ruling party’s opponents.
“We saw strange elements jumping on the truck. They then started throwing food parcels randomly, causing instant chaos,” said Walvis Bay resident and Swapo Party member Haleinge Job.
Many Swapo members and supporters made similar claims, going as far as publishing images of the alleged culprits.
No opposition party has claimed responsibility. Instead, their supporters argue that the chaotic food distribution reveals that Namibians are hungry.
