A TAXI driver has been arrested for stabbing his girlfriend of 11 months to death on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Martha Ndahangwakelao Aron, a teacher at Onambudu Primary School.
Oshikoto Community Policing Sub-division Chief Inspector Ellen Nehale-Kangulu said the incident occurred at the Oshifaniso cucashops in Omuthiya.
According to Nehale-Kangulu, the deceased was 35, while the boyfriend, a 39-year-old taxi driver from Oshasẹifa, Omuthiya.
She indicated that the suspect allegedly approached his girlfriend after she ended their 11-month relationship, wanting to talk to her.
“When she refused to talk to him, he threw a glass at her but missed. He then took a kitchen knife from his car and stabbed her four times, resulting in her death on the spot,” she said.
She added that the suspect fled the scene immediately but was apprehended later by the police.
Nehale-Kangulu said the suspect is expected to appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
