THE Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region has arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend to death on Monday.
Community Policing Sub-division Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha said the incident occurred between 08:00 and 08:30 between Tsaraxa-Aibes and Kathlahong locations in Otjiwarongo.
Mbeha identified the deceased as Amanda Khuxas.
According to Mbeha, it is alleged that the victim was stabbed once in the chest (left side) with a sharp object by her ex-boyfriend.
“The victim, however, died on the way to a local clinic while being taken by her friends,” she said.
Mbeha added that the motive behind the murder is still unknown.
She indicated that the deceased’s body was later transported to Otjiwarongo State Hospital, where it was declared dead by the medical officer.
The suspect was arrested and is due to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
