THE Namibian police in the Omaheke region are on the hunt for a man who was allegedly caught raping a two-year-old girl.
According to the weekend crime bulletin the incident happened on Saturday, 21 September 2024 at about 23:00 at Kanaan A. Epako settlement, Gobabis.
It is further alleged that the 13-year-old girl who was watching television at the neighbour’s house together with her parents decided to go home and sleep in the shack where the babies were sleeping. The door of the shack was closed but not locked. As she entered the shack, she switched on the light and saw a man who was rapping the two-year-old toddler and she immediately ran back to the neighbour’s house and informed the mother.
The suspect fled the scene but is known and efforts to arrest him are ongoing.
The victim was taken to Gobabis State Hospital for medical a examination.
