A 12-YEAR-OLD boy, identified as Frans Ndonga, died after falling into a well and drowning at King Nehale in the Oshikoto Region.
According to the weekend crime bulletin, the drowning incident happened on Friday, 13 September 2024, around 07:00 at Uukango Womafuma village, Omuthiya Constituency, Oshikoto Region.
It is further alleged that the deceased was with his 14-year-old cousin, collecting water for livestock from the well using a bucket. It is alleged that while the two boys were busy pulling the bucket of water from the well, the metal handle, which the deceased was holding, broke off, tripping the deceased and causing him to fall into the well, where he died instantly.
The deceased’s body was recovered from the well by members of the Police Reserve Force and was transported to the Omuthiya police mortuary for a postmortem. The next of kin have been informed.
