A 28-YEAR-OLD Namibian man has been hospitalized after a failed suicide attempt during which he jumped onto a power line.
According to the weekend crime bulletin the attempted suicide incident happened on Friday, 13 September 2024 around 18:00 at Oshakati Premier Electric main station.
It is alleged that the man attempted to commit suicide by jumping on the power lines and he was electrocuted by the electrical wires. It is further alleged that the on-duty guard and some employees at Premier Electric tried to stop him but he proceeded to and jumped into the power station with intent to commit suicide. The victim is admitted at Oshakati State Hospital in a stable condition but sustained burn wounds all over his body.
The cause of the attempted suicide is being investigated.
