Outapi SME Youth Expo launched

THE first edition of the Outapi Youth Expo has provided 100 free stalls to youth from across the country to bring their products and services closer to the people.

This was revealed by event organiser and director of H25 Marketing CC, January Ivula, during the launch of the Outapi SME Youth Expo on Wednesday, in Outapi.

According to Ivula, 110 exhibitors have already registered to participate in the expo, with the hope of reaching 300 exhibitors before the event kicks off.

“Our target is 300 youth whom we expect to exhibit their products and services during the youth expo,” he said.

He added that the distribution of the stalls was done deliberately to ensure that the youth are given a platform to generate income for themselves.

Omusati governor Erginus Endjala, in a speech read on his behalf, said the role of small and medium enterprises in Namibia’s economy cannot be overstated.

Endjala said that SMEs are the backbone of sustainable economic growth, job creation, and community development. By showcasing their businesses, products, and services, they are not only promoting their own ventures but also highlighting the immense potential that lies within the youth.

“As we prepare for the expo, I want the youth in Omusati to start thinking beyond our local boundaries. Our region is rich with resources, and it is essential that we harness and elevate our local produce to meet national or even international markets,” he said.

He added that they should always strive to add value to local produce to enhance the quality and appeal of their products.

Endjala said that innovation and creativity should drive them to upgrade and improve their produce, and they should tailor their products and services to meet international requirements and preferences.

He said that this will open doors to new opportunities and broader markets.
