A CASE of culpable homicide is being investigated by the police in the Omusati Region after a 30-year-old man died in a motorbike accident on Monday.
Omusati’s Community Policing Sub-Division Inspector, Anna Kunga, said the incident occurred around 23:00 on the main road from Outapi to Ruacana, at Omatemba village in the Ruacana constituency.
According to Kunga, it is alleged that the unlicensed driver of a motorbike without a registration number or lights was driving from Ruacana border post to Otjaandjamwenyo village when he collided with a stationary truck that was parked on the road in the left lane, facing east.
“The driver of the motorbike died on the spot. Two passengers on the motorbike sustained injuries and were transported to Outapi State Hospital by ambulance,” she said.
Kunga indicated that the truck driver is unknown at this stage, as he allegedly left the locked truck on the road before the accident occurred.
