THREE Zimbabwean nationals were arrested in Windhoek on Tuesday after being found with cannabis worth N$6 million.

Shikwambi disclosed that NamPol and NamRA officials intercepted a truck from South Africa in Windhoek’s Northern Industrial Area and found cannabis worth N$6 million in the truck. She confirmed that NamPol then arrested three Zimbabwean nationals, aged 54, 45, and 34.
In another intelligence-led operation, NamPol and NamRA officials intercepted another truck between the Araimsvlei-Nakop borders today. Following a search, the truck driver was found in possession of cannabis worth N$500, and the suspect, a 55-year-old South African, was arrested.
“NamPol and NamRA remain committed to safeguarding society by preventing the illegal importation and distribution of controlled substances. These operations underscore the crucial role that the two institution play in protecting our society from the detrimental effects of drugs,” Shikwambi and NamRA’s Chief of Strategic Communications and Support, Yarukeekuro Ndorokaze, said in a joint statement.
In another undercover operation, NamPol also arrested a 29-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay, on Tuesday after they were found in possession of cannabis worth N$114,250.
Shikwambi revealed that the suspects were arrested after an undercover police officer ordered cannabis from them. The suspects allegedly delivered the cannabis to the police, leading to further investigations which revealed more cannabis in their house.
