WHILE Friday is expected to be mild to warm in most parts of the country, colder conditions and rain are anticipated in some regions over the coming weekend.
According to Richard Nashikaku of Namibia Meteorological Services, cold conditions are expected in the southern, central, and western parts of the country on Sunday. He added that these conditions are likely to persist into next week Monday in the same regions.
Keetmanshoop in the //Kharas Region as well as Windhoek in the Khomas Region have been highlighted as places where temperatures are expected to drop to around 2°C on Sunday.
While the anticipated cold conditions are expected to affect several areas in the south, centre, and west, the predicted rainfall is not expected to be widespread. In fact, Nashikaku identified the //Kharas Region as the only area expected to experience thundershowers this weekend, most probably on Sunday. In this case, Keetmanshoop was also highlighted as one of the places expected to see showers on Sunday.
On Friday, however, most parts of the country will still enjoy warm weather, with temperatures not expected to drop below 5°C in most areas. The highest temperatures for Friday are forecasted to reach 32°C in Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region and Oshakati in the Oshana Region.
