THE Namibian Police in the Ohangwena Region are investigating a case of culpable homicide after ten people were allegedly injured when their vehicles collided and caught fire on Friday afternoon.
Ohangwena Community Policing Sub-division Warrant Officer Andrew Nghiyolwa said that the incident occurred on the Etomba-Omundaungilo road at Oheti village in the Omundaungilo Constituency.
According to Nghiyolwa, two motor vehicles, a Toyota Hilux 2.7 Double Cab and a Toyota Hilux 2.7 Single Cab, collided head-on, and both caught fire and burned to ashes.

“It is alleged that the Toyota Hilux 2.7 Double Cab was overtaking other vehicles when the Single Cab was turning off the road to the right near a gate to a house, causing the two vehicles to collide,” he said.
He explained that the Toyota Hilux Single Cab was loaded with fuel, which ignited the fire in the process.
Nghiyolwa indicated that although no fatalities have been recorded, about ten people were injured, four of whom were seriously burned and were taken to Eenhana District State Hospital.
He said that the particulars of those involved in the accident and the motor vehicles are still to be obtained due to the urgent medical treatment required.
