Southern Kings outshine Unam Zebras in T20 league final

THE Desert Ice Challenge T20 League 2024 semi-final and final took place over the past weekend with fireworks on display by the four teams.

A Total of 8 teams and 120 players are involved in the league from as far north as Tsumeb east to Gobabis and the coast.

A new trend for cricket in the country is to enable the sport to be played continuously round the year including players from across all leagues.


In the final on Sunday, the Unam Zebras brought up a respectable 216 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, with a spectacular answer from the Run Whisperers Southern Kings bringing up 217 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets in 18.1 overs.

Impact Cricket Namibia was established with the aim of development and expansion of cricket as a sport of choice nationwide.

The Desert Ice Challenge T20 League is being organized under the auspices of Impact Cricket Namibia and is approved and endorsed by Cricket Namibia.

Desert Ice Challenge afford players from all divisions including national, premier, division 1, 2 as well as Junior players a chance to play with and against each other in a highly competitive league.
