THE 40-year-old man accused of allegedly attempting to rape his 79-year-old mother was denied bail in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court after making a brief court appearance on Monday.
The case was postponed to 10 September 2024 for further investigation and legal aid.
The accused allegedly committed the act at Okomakwiya village, Onesi Constituency, on Friday.
According to police, it is alleged that the suspect, who is the biological son of the victim, pushed his mother, causing her to fall down. He then grabbed her leg, started undressing her, and also undressed himself with the intention of having sex with her.
The police further alleged that the suspect told his mother that he could hear an inner voice telling him to have sex with her.
