THE City of Windhoek (CoW) has announced that several streets in Windhoek’s Havana and Goreangab locations will be partially closed until the end of this year.

CoW revealed that the affected roads in Havana are Omutula Street, Walvis Bay Street, Bethanie Street, and Outapi Street, while the affected roads in Goreangab are Tolla Street and Lucia Street.

“The roads’ partial closure is necessary to facilitate the upgrading of the existing gravel roads to bitumen standards. The roads under discussion form part of the greater upgrade of the Northern Suburbs Collector Roads (Phase II),” the council explained.

CoW revealed that the construction work on the roads will continue until 20 December 2024. However, the roads will still be accessible to residents and motorists.

“We urge all road users to adhere to traffic signage and speed restrictions around the construction works. We apologise for any inconvenience while this necessary work is underway,” CoW added.
