More rainfall expected in Keetmanshoop before cold front hits

THE South, particularly Keetmanshoop, experienced heavy rainfall on Tuesday, with more anticipated tomorrow before cooler conditions set in this weekend.

Several photos of the heavy rainfall in Keetmanshoop have circulated online, with social media users revealing that the area received more than 50 millimetres of rain in a matter of hours on Tuesday. The area’s heavy rainfall is vividly captured in striking photos and videos shared by Facebook users Gert Jacobie, Remona van Litzenborgh, Sonette Mostert Hanekom, Janetta, and others.


Facebook users also shared a number of other striking rain photos and videos, revealing that several areas in the South, such as the //Kharas Region’s Bethanie, also received significant rainfall on Tuesday. The East was also not exempt from Tuesday’s generous rainfall, as weather enthusiasts shared photos online revealing that Omaheke Region’s Witvlei and Gobabis experienced substantial rainfall.

According to Namibia Meteorological Services, several places from the North to the South can expect more rainfall for the remainder of this week. This includes Rundu, Ondangwa, Windhoek, and Keetmanshoop. However, this weekend is expected to usher in cold conditions in the South, which are projected to persist into next week.
