A SECURITY guard stationed at the Ondangwa Town Council was allegedly discovered dead, having reportedly taken his own life with a service pistol.
The deceased was identified as Israel Jesaya (31), employed by Tripple One Security Company.
Oshana Community Affairs Officer Inspector Thomas Aiyambo said the incident occurred around 06:40 in Ondangwa.
Aiyambo said that it is alleged the deceased’s body was found seated at the back of the town council’s office.
“He was found wearing Triple One Security uniform, with a pistol in his right hand and the index finger still on the trigger, hammer cocked back facing his abdominal area,” he said.
He added that the deceased has two open wounds, an entrance wound in the middle of the forehead with tattooing around the injury, and one at the back of the head.
Aiyambo added that a chip in the wall, seemingly a mark made by the projectile was found.
