THE upgrading of a 1.3 km gravel road to bitumen standard is currently at 80% completion.
The project, which cost the council N$1.8 million, also includes an earth channel.
Ondangwa town spokesperson Petrina Shitalangaho-Mutikisha said that the project is nearing completion and currently stands at a completion rate of 80%.
“If no rainfall is received in the coming days, we expect it to be fully completed this month,” she said.
She added that this is one of the road projects in addition to others that started in August this year, covering 1.4 km of bitumen and concrete channels.
However, the project is still in its infancy stage.
Shitalangaho-Mutikisha indicated that as funds become available, the council will continue to improve its service delivery to its residents by constructing quality roads and providing other municipal services to most of the old settlements.
Oluno is one of the old settlements facing challenges such as inadequate road infrastructure.
