THE Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, and Employment Creation has issued a warning to the general public, advising against confusing the ministry’s Namibia Integrated Employment Information System (NIEIS) website with another site that shares the same name.
Otniel Podewiltz, the Acting Executive Director of the ministry, revealed that the ministry is unfamiliar with the origin of the other website. He emphasised that this distinct website is entirely unrelated to both the ministry and the employment services bureau.

“The Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, and Employment Creation become aware of a website bearing the name “NIEIS Namibia” accessible through URL: https://nieisnamibia.com/ by an unknown host. This website contains a name similar to the one administered by this Ministry in the name of Namibia Integrated Employment Information System, popularly known as NIEIS, accessible via: https://nieis.namibiaatwork.gov.na/,” Podewiltz revealed.
He explained that the ministry employs the NIEIS website to collect, store, and update information regarding the names, qualifications, and occupations of job seekers, vacancies in the labour market, specialised skills and qualifications held by Namibian citizens and permanent residents, as well as details concerning employers in Namibia. This function is stipulated within the Employment Service Act 8 of 2011.
He assured that the ministry remains dedicated to safeguarding the interests and well-being of the public, and will therefore adopt proactive measures to address emerging threats to maintain a secure and dependable labour environment.
“The Namibia Integrated Employment Information System (NIEIS) is an intellectual property of the Government of the Republic of Namibia, and any unauthorized use of the same name in any manner is unlawful and punishable by law. The public is therefore warned to refrain from using the above-mentioned name without authorization. The Ministry will take all necessary steps in this regard,” Podewiltz added.
