TWO cases of rape have been reported after a teenage girl and boy were raped in Gibeon and Aranos respectively by male suspects who are yet to be arrested.
According to Inspector Raimbert Muronga of the Namibian police, the first incident happened at Gibeon on 30 July 2023 at an unknown time at !Nanseb Section.
It’s alleged that the suspect took the victim from the friends with whom they were socializing to escort her home, but instead took her to his place of residence where he had sexual intercourse with a minor who can’t give consent.
The victim is a 15-year-old Namibian female. The suspect is well known; however, he has not yet been arrested, and the investigation continues.
In the second matter, it is alleged that a 14-year-old boy was raped under coercive circumstances in Aranos.
According to Inspector Raimbert Muronga, the incident happened on 29 July 2023 at an unknown time at Nuwerus location in Aranos.
It’s alleged that the suspect took the complainant to his house and had sexual intercourse with him under coerced circumstances.
The suspect is known to the complainant but has not yet been arrested, and the investigation continues.
