Namibians urged to attend the upcoming 2023 Namibia Oil and Gas Conference

ALL Namibians are invited to attend the 2023 Namibia Oil and Gas Conference, scheduled to take place in Windhoek from 16 to 17 August 2023.

The goal of the conference is to educate the Namibian public about the country’s emerging oil and gas industry. This conference will be hosted by the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN), the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Namibia, and the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR).

NAMCOR explained that the conference’s intention is to provide a platform for interested Namibians who cannot afford participation fees at industry conferences, allowing them to attend the sessions free of charge.

“The conference aims to unpack the opportunities that oil discoveries present to a variety of local businesses, different sizes, and to the ordinary Namibian. It will also delve into potential challenges that these discoveries may bring,” NAMCOR added.

NIPDB further highlighted that the conference seeks to shed light on the oil discoveries in Namibia, which hold tremendous potential for impacting the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and household income. NIPDB added that the conference will also foster constructive discussions, intended to pave the way for educating Namibians about the emerging oil and gas industry.

“Discussions hold considerable implications for the energy sector, with the potential to shape Namibia’s economic development,” NIPDB added.

NIPDB further emphasized that the event intends to engage a broad audience, including the general Namibian public and members of civil society. The event, NIPDB added, is also anticipated to attract international thought-leaders and key players in the industry, who are expected to provide valuable insights and foster global collaboration.

NIPDB, therefore, encouraged all Namibians to attend the conference, emphasizing that participation will play a vital role in shaping the future of Namibia’s energy landscape.
