A 66-year-old woman, identified as Fransina Rooinasie, has tragically passed away at the Katutura State Hospital after succumbing to injuries sustained from an assault by her biological son.
According to Inspector Raimbert Muronga of the Namibian Police, the attack occurred on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at approximately 06:50.
“It is alleged that the suspect, the biological son of the deceased, assaulted his mother, leading to her hospitalization at Katutura Hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to the injuries,” explained Inspector Muronga.
He further said that the 38-year-old biological son of the victim has been arrested. The incident was only reported on Monday, July 10, 2023, and the case was registered after family members notified the police. Police investigations have commenced.
