THE Africa Regional Field Archery Championships, which were held in Namibia over the past weekend, concluded on Sunday, with Jannie Meuwesen of Windhoek claiming first place in the Adult Male Freestyle Unlimited Class.
Ten Namibian archers competed in the Africa Regional Field Archery Championships 2023, which began on June 30th and ran until Sunday, July 2nd, with Namibia competing against South Africa and Zambia.
Jannie Meuwesen of Windhoek secured first place in the Adult Male Freestyle Unlimited Class, while Rene Rossler of Luderitz took second place in the Adult Male Bow Hunter Unlimited Class. Liezl Schoeman from Windhoek finished third in the Adult Female Bow Hunter Unlimited Class, and Cobus Barnard, also from Windhoek, finished third in the Young Adult Male Freestyle Unlimited Class.
According to the Archery Association of Namibia, Namibia competed in several teams and earned 1 bronze medal and 2 silver medals. The Association expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all participants.
