THE long-awaited groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Tsandi-Omugulugombashe road took place today, with Works and Transport Minister John Mutorwa officiating at the event. The gravel road will be upgraded to low-volume seal bitumen standards.
Tsandi Constituency Councillor, Junius Amunkete, said that the upgrade of the DR 3633 road was long overdue. He expressed that community members and visitors to the area have been patiently waiting for this development for the past 33 years.

Amunkete mentioned that several consultative meetings were held, and the community urged for the road to be upgraded as soon as possible, as the gravel road was causing damage to their vehicles and reducing their lifespan.
“We are happy that even patients will now feel much more comfortable when being transported from the Omugulugombashe clinic to the Tsandi district hospital. The days of a dusty and bumpy road will soon be over,” he said.
He expressed hope that the Tsandi-Onesi gravel road would be the next one to be improved. Community members are excited about the construction of the tarred road.
