AN on-duty security guard was shot dead during a robbery and housebreaking incident at Brazzaville Bar- Iipanya location, Okalunga village, in the area of Oshigambo.
Oshikoto Community Affairs Officer, Inspector Ellen Nehale said the incident occurred around 03:00.
It is alleged that four suspects came at the bar, and one of them shot and killed the 29-year-old deceased with a pistol.
He died instantly as a result.
“The suspects proceeded to the bar lady’s room, broke the door to gain entry, demanded the keys of the bar and demanded her to open the safe and stole money in cash approximately close to N$13 000,” she said.
She added that the suspects fled the scene in a suspected getaway Sedan vehicle.
The suspects are unknown at this stage and no arrest has been made so far.
The Deceased’s next of kin is not yet informed.
The Deceased’s body was transported to Omuthiya Police mortuary for autopsy.
Police investigations are ongoing.
