A 41- year-old Chinese national was arrested for offering a bribe to the police officer on B2 road between Arandis and Usakos, near Vergenoeg farm, Arandis District in Erongo region, on Saturday.
According to a crime report issued on Sunday by Public relations officer Inspector Raimbert Muronga, the suspect allegedly tried to bribe the officer with N$200.
“It is alleged that the suspect unlawfully and intentionally offered cash to a Traffic Officer in order not to be issued with a speed limit fine of N$2 000,” he said.
He added that the suspect was arrested and will appear at Swakopmund Magistrate court on Tuesday.
Police investigation continues.
