A CASE of possible poisoning is being investigated by Omusati police after Johannes Amadhila, 36, died from drinking from a jar of traditional brew at Okakuu location, Omukondo village.
The deceased allegedly died on Monday at Okahao Hospital and a case of murder by administration a poison or other noxious substances was opened.
Crime Investigation Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, said the deceased allegedly went to Okakuu location from home, then went to a certain cuca-shop, where he found people drinking a jar of Okatokele (traditional brew).
“He also joined and he drank from the same jar. There after, the victim started complaining that he felt a headache,” he said.
Simaho added that the deceased allegedly moved a few meters away from the cuca-shop to another cuca-shop, where he fell down while trying to sit on a wooden chair.
The deceased was then taken to Onemanya/ Idra- Ghadhi Hospital and later transferred to Okahao Hospital where he died.
Police investigation into the matter continues.
