AN 18-year-old man has been arrested for repeatedly raping his 12-year-old cousin at Omalola village.
The suspect began molesting the victim in 2021 on different days and continued until the matter was reported to the police by the victim’s 95-year-old great-grandmother.
Oshikoto Regional Commander, Commissioner Theopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku, said the suspect usually sneaks into the victim’s sleeping room at night and rapes her while she is asleep.
“The victim usually wakes up and finds the suspect already having sex with her and alerts the complainant,” she said.
Kalompo-Nashikaku indicated that the suspect is expected to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate Court on Friday.
Police investigation into the matter continues.
