THE Windhoek archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) has announced the death of one of their longest serving clerics, Deacon Desiderius Amayulu, who passed on Monday aged 76.
According to an announcement by Archbishop Liborius Ndumbukuti Nashenda, Deacon Amayulu died in a private hospital at Ongwediva.
He was ordained a permanent Deacon for the Okatana pastoral region 37 years ago and served particularly the Ongwediva parish till his retirement a few years ago.

He also served as principal of a local school.
His 47-year marriage to Agatha Ludwig was blessed with ten children: three boys and seven girls.
He is also survived by grandchildren.
“I hereby convey our condolences as an archdiocese and the church province of Namibia to bereaved family assuring them of our continuous prayer, support and solidarity during this difficult time,” said Archbishop Nashenda.
