A THIRTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for brutally stabbing his 33-year-old girlfriend and mother of their six-year-old child at Ohainete village in the Oshitutuma area on Wednesday.
According to Community Affairs Officer, Inspector Ellen Nehale, the heinous attack occurred at the suspects home.
Nehale stated that an argument erupted between the couple after the suspect allegedly started questioning the victim over having an affair with another man.
“In the process, the suspect used a knife and stabbed the victim three times on both her legs and sustained serious injuries,” she said.
The victim was taken to Onandjokwe hospital and is in stable condition.
Nehale indicated that a case of assault with grievous bodily harm read with domestic violence has been opened.
Police investigation into the matter continues.
