POLICE in the Erongo region is investigating a head-on collision between two trucks, a Chinese tipper, and a truck from Namibia Dairies, in which three occupants were injured.
The incident took place earlier this morning on the B2 Highway, approximately three to two km from the Arandis turn-off.
The Erongo Regional Commander, Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona, said the two trucks were driving in opposite directions. Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of Namibia dairies lost control of his truck causing it to slide onto the oncoming traffic lane causing a head-on collision.
Two of the occupants were rushed to the Arandis hospital and one to the Swakopmund hospital for medical attention.
Commissioner Kupembona reminded motorists on the Arandis/Swakupund stretch that fog occasionally spread deeper inland and contributes to poor visibility, while it also can cause a slippery road surface.
