THIS first photo of the tragic plane crash near Impalila island indicates a catastrophic accident.
Five people, four tourists and a pilot lost their lives at noon when a Scenic Air charter plane went down.
The accident scene is closed down to allow investigators to collect the smallest pieces of wreckage.
Toska Sem, the Executive Director of the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) stated that the ministry of works and transport will be involved in carrying out an investigation into the causes of the accident.
Police and divers are also deployed at the scene where pieces of the light aircraft are scattered along the river and banks.
Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga, spokesperson of the Namibian police noted that the identities of the crash victims will be released in due time.
