Ogongo tournament expected to be bigger and better this year

ANOTHER exciting edition of the Ogongo community tournament is underway. The organizing team aims to invest a total of N$50 000 for the hosting of the sports event.

According to Alweendo Nangolo, member of the organising committee, the tournament is open to all teams, clubs, vocational training centres and tertiary institutions.

He stated that the two-day tournament will take place at the Marco Mpollo sport field from 22 to 23 October 2022.

In the youth games for soccer, the first runner-up will walk away with N$15 000, gold medals and a floating trophy.

The second placed team will get N$9 000 and silver medals, while the teams at third and fourth place, will get N$3 000 respectively.

Nangolo indicated that they also intend to award top scorer with N$500, best goalkeeper (N$400) and best player (N$400).

Meanwhile, winners in the legends category are expected to walk away with N$4 200, gold medals and floating trophy for the first place.

The team that comes second will earn itself N$3 000 and silver medals while the team that comes third pockets N$1 800 and bronze medals.
“We want to revive football enthusiasm and, hopefully, help end crime in our community,” he said.

Nangolo is calling on all sports lovers to turn up in big numbers to support their teams.
