A 25-YEAR-OLD man, Matheus Hadino Matheus, died on Wednesday after he was punched and kicked in his chest and back during a fight that broke out in Onekwaya East in the Ohangwena region.
According to the police, the incident took place at about 20:00 at Oixwali business point, where the 30-year-old suspect and the deceased were allegedly gambling with a group of people. It is alleged that an argument erupted between the suspect and the deceased, which escalated, resulting in a physical fistfight between the two.
Matheus reportedly fell down during the fight and the suspect continued to kick him until Matheus died at the scene.
The police confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and the deceased’s next of kin were informed.
