A HUSBAND, wife and their children were left severely traumatized after a burglar broke into their home in Khomasdal and robbed them at gunpoint.
According to Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga, the robbery with aggravating circumstances happened on Tuesday at about 04:30 at a house in Tiptol Street.
The suspect gained entry on the western side of the house by opening a window and putting his arm through to open the door.
He entered and came across the female complainant in the corridor.
The suspect took out a firearm and pointed it at the woman.
She screamed and ran back into her room, warning her husband not to go out as the suspect is armed.
At that moment the children ran into the room and shut the door to keep the suspect from entering.
The woman then called the police.
When the police arrived, the suspect had already fled.
He stole a black, 38 inch Samsung television valued at N$6 000, a black and gold ASUS laptop valued at N$5 000 and N$500 taken from the woman’s wallet. A member of the City Police found the empty wallet outside at the back door.
According to the complainants, the robber is bald and was wearing a grey jacket and blue grey jeans.
