TWO-YEAR-OLD Sakaria Kamutushi Hangula died tragically after he burnt beyond recognition, while two people were left with wounds from the fire at Oneputa B Oshigambo Area.
According to Oshikoto police commander Commissioner Armas Shivute, the incident occurred on Tuesday around 22:00.
Shivute stated that the fire broke out in the room with a thatched roof where the deceased was sleeping.
“The deceased’s biological father was left with burn wounds on the arms, face and legs while he was trying to rescue his baby boy.”
Eveline Nahenda, a houseworker, sustained slight burn wounds on her arms in an attempt to rescue them.
Shivute said they were admitted to the Onandjokwe Hospital and are in stable condition.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
