AN inquest was opened by the police in Oshikoto after a mentally challenged man reportedly drowned at Omadhiya village in the Omulonga area.
According to regional commander Armas Shivute, the deceased, identified as Efraim Elifas, was reported missing on Saturday.
“The family came across the deceased’s clothes near an earth dam and they became suspicious. They informed the police,” he said.
Shivute stated that a search was carried out and the body was later retrieved from the water around 12:30 on Sunday by Special Reserve Force divers.
