IPC leader in Oshikoto resigns

Staff Reporter

MOSES Bingu Alfeus, a founding member of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) and the party’s vice chairperson for the Omuthiya Constituency in the Oshikoto Region, has resigned both his leadership position and his party membership.

In a letter to the local IPC leadership, dated 6 May 2022, Alfeus said that he was resigning for his “own reasons” and not because he has anything against the IPC.

He also declared that “for now”, he does not have any intention of joining any other political party.

Constituency executive committee member Moses Amukoto confirmed Alfeus’ resignation but said that it has yet to be formalized.

“The executive is holding its ordinary meeting tonight and the discussions will include Alfeus’ resignation,” he said.

The IPC, which is about two years, was rocked by the resignations of junior and mid-level leaders since last year.

Efraim Nanghama, Walvis Bay mobilizer; Gowin Kamberipa-Mbuende, Khomasdal political commissar and Lawrence Ihuhua, also of Khomasdal are some of mid-level IPC resignees.
