A ONE-YEAR-OLD baby has died of suffocation at Otjandjamwenyo village in Omusati’s Ruacana constituency.
According to police crime investigation coordinator Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, the baby boy and his mother were sleeping when she realized that he was not moving.
He said the incident occurred last Sunday around 13:00.
Simaho identified the deceased as Joese Dagama Kawoko.
“It is alleged that the deceased was sleeping in a traditional hut with his mother when the mother realized that the baby was no longer breathing. She then informed the family members and the matter was reported to the police,” he said.
An inquest was opened.
