A CASE of combating rape has been opened with the Namibian police in Omusati Region after a 24-year-old was allegedly raped and impregnated by an unknown suspect at Tobias Hainyeko location in Outapi town.
The incident occurred on 5 February between 22:00 and 04:00 the next day and was only reported to the police recently.
According to crime investigation coordinator Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, the victim was allegedly under the influence of alcohol during the ordeal. “She does not know the suspect,” he said.
Simaho said the victim might have left the door open when she went to sleep.
