PETRUS Shituleipo Wilhelm (25) drowned while with his friends swimming in an earth dam at Ohadiwa yaKapombo village in the Endola Constituency.
Wilhelm could not swim.
According to Nampol, the incident occurred around 17:30 on Sunday.
“When the friends realized that he was drowning, they allegedly tried to rescue him but their efforts were not successful,” the police said.
People are again urged to take care when in or around water as drowning cases in the country keep increasing. Children should not be left unattended near water and people crossing big bodies of water should remain extra careful.
