RAPE cases are increasing countrywide, specifically statutory rape, with three minors that suffered at the hands of savages on Friday.
The victims, aged 12, 13 and 15 respectively, were raped, of which one gang-raped, between 01:00 and 20:00 on Friday.
A 13-year-old girl was reportedly gang-raped at Mupini Village in Kavango West on Friday at about 20:00.
According to the police, two males aged 17 and 18 followed the victim. They then grabbed her from behind, pulled her to a dark area and raped her.
Both suspects were arrested and will appear before the Kahenge periodical court on Monday.
Also on Friday, a 19-year-old Angolan male reportedly entered the sleeping room of a 12-year-old girl and raped her.
The incident happened at around 22:00 at Omadano village in the Omundaungilo Constituency of the Ohangwena region.
The suspect is allegedly employed as a domestic worker at the victim’s house.
He has been arrested and will appear in court on Monday.
At around 01:00 on Friday, a Namibian male (26) allegedly raped a 15-year-old grade 7 learner at Okatanyange village in the Outapi Constituency of the Omusati Region.
The suspect was arrested and will appear before the Outapi Magistrate’s Court.
