A 42-YEAR-OLD man is currently detained at the Oshakati State Hospital mental ward for observation after stabbing his 72-year-old mother on Saturday.
Oshana Community Affairs officer Inspector Thomas Aiyambo said the incident occurred at Ohadiwa village around 17:50.
According to Aiyambo, the suspect used an okapi knife to stab the victim several times, inflicting multiple injuries.
“The victim was admitted to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital and is in stable condition,” he said.
A case of attempted murder was opened.
