AN accident occurred on Monday on the B2 road between Swakopmund and Arandis, leaving one person injured and one dead.
It is alleged that there were two occupants in the car, including the driver who lost control of the vehicle, a grey Ford Ranger pulling a trailer, causing it to overturn.
The occupants were reportedly on their way to Arandis from Swakopmund, where they collected stock for their business, when the car overturned about 12 km outside Swakopmund at about 17:35.
The driver, a 30-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and has been admitted to the Swakopmund State Hospital for a medical examination.
The passenger, Josef Kakondo, allegedly died at the scene of the accident after being thrown out of the car. His age is still unknown and his body was taken to the Swakopmund State Hospital for death certification and further handling.
The deceased’s next of kin have been notified and investigations continue.
