THE Ohangwena region once again reported the highest rainfall, with Eenhana reportedly receiving 40,5 mm of rain on Thursday, according to Namibia Meteorological Service.
While Ohangwena received significant rainfall, it is not the only region.
Travellers in Erongo shared photos of the Spitzkoppe River flowing. “Seems the rain has shifted to that side this year,” one commented.
Juandre Gouws sent photos of the river streaming past the Spitzkoppe, taken around 15:00 on Thursday.
In the Oshikoto region, Namutoni and King Kauluma Village received 19 mm and 8 mm respectively.
Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa region recorded 10,6 mm and Outjo in the Kunene region recorded 10,4 mm.
In Khomas, Bergvlug, Windhoek and Claratal Farm recorded 27,3 mm,17,8 mm and 8,9 mm of rain respectively. Further down, in the Hardap region, Rehoboth received 6,4 mm of rain, while Maltahöhe recorded 0,6 mm of rain and Aranos 0,1mm.
According to Namibia Meteorological Service, heavy storms with flash floods are most likely in places in the interior except in the ||Karas region on Friday.
Widespread thundershowers will be confined over the western half of the interior over the weekend.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected over coastal areas where flooding is most likely Friday and over the weekend.
