THE Namibian police in the Oshana Region are investigating a case of culpable homicide after 55-year-old Samuel Imbili succumbed to his injuries allegedly sustained when hit by a car.
According to the police, the incident occurred on 30 January around 22:00 at Oshitayi cuca shop.
A 31-year-old male suspect has been arrested and not only faces charges of culpable homicide but also of failing to report the accident within 24 hours at the nearest police station.
“It is alleged that the deceased was hit while he was standing behind a cuca shop,” the police said.
They further indicated that the suspect allegedly ignored the fact that he hit someone with his car and entered the cuca shop. His friend called him outside to have a look at the victim who was lying unconscious on the ground.
Imbili was taken to the Onandjokwe hospital but reportedly succumbed to his injuries on the way there.
