A 50-YEAR-OLD man, Rainer Tegethoff, died outside his residence in Walvis Bay after he allegedly shot himself in the head with a pistol.
According to the Erongo police, the incident reportedly happened on Wednesday around 18:00 in Isaac Newton Street in Narraville.
No suicide note was found and no foul play is suspected.
He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics and his body was taken to the Walvis Bay State hospital for death certification and storage.
The body will later be transferred to the Walvis Bay Police mortuary for a post mortem.
His next of kin have been informed.
Police investigation continues.
