A SUSPECTED thief might have provided the police in the Ohangwena Region the most important tip that would lead to him being arrested.
The incident happened at the Ongha settlement yesterday afternoon when a shopkeeper walked to the toilet and an unknown male suspect quickly slipped in and managed to steal a cash amount of N$900.
However, it appears that in the process of gathering the coins and bank notes, the suspect put his own cellphone down and forgot it there.
People in the vicinity reported seeing a man enter and exit the shop in a hurry.
“He just made our job easier. It is just a matter of time before we arrest him,” said Inspector Kaume Itumba.
