THE Erongo police need assistance in tracing 44-year-old Daniel Jacobs Robberts.
Robberts is on holiday in Swakopmund with his father, and originally from Farm Lacockshook no. 297 in the Windhoek District.
Robberts left their house, No.454 in Ocean View, Swakopmund, on Tuesday 28 December around 10:00.
He told his family that he was going to take his car to a car wash in Mondesa but never returned.
His phone remains switched off.
His parents allegedly started searching for him on Wednesday afternoon. They met a Neighbourhood Watch member who confirmed that the missing person was seen in Mondesa driving alone in his car on 28 and 29 December in the afternoon and early morning hours.
They continued searching and then found his car parked at the Swakopmund Football Club (SFC) stadium in town.
At that stage they saw four unknown young men approach the car with the car keys, but their son was nowhere to be seen.
When they asked where their son was, the young men told them that he was in the stadium, but the parents couldn’t find him there.
The matter was reported to the police by his father, Johannes Francois Robberts, around 17:00 on 29 December.
According to his father, this is not the first time for him to leave home for some time. On the previous occasion, he came back after two days.
Anyone who has seen him or knows his whereabouts is urgently requested to contact Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu on 081 246 4757, Detective Inspector Rosa Tjihavero on 81 413 7105 or any nearest police station.
The boys with the car keys who spoke to the parents have not been traced yet.
