Burglars target Ondangwa, Oshakati

UNKNOWN burglars broke into and practically emptied a house at Ondangwa on Friday, while a business outlet at Oshakati suffered the same fate on Monday.

According to the police, the house of a 74-year-old was broken into during the early morning hours of Friday while he was out of town.

He returned to the town after an employee who stays in an outside room informed him about the incident.

Stolen items include three beds, one mattress, seven blankets, one TV set, 12 chairs, seven pots and a variety of clothes for both men and women.

The total value of the stolen items is estimated at N$93 000.
The police did not find any clear footprints at the scene.

Another incident was reported at Oshakati on Monday. This time, a business outlet was the target.

Unknown suspects broke into the Vukas Bar and stole a gaming roulette jackpot machine (serial number NG/SLEIC01818) valued at N$73 000.

The suspects also smashed the screen of another machine causing damage estimated at N$55 000.

The suspects also stole liquor worth about N$4 000.

No recoveries and no arrests were made after both incidents.

Law enforcement officers are continuously warning residents and business owners to beware of burglars and other criminals, especially this time of the year.
