ON a weekend where Namibians performed exceptionally well to fix the world’s eyes on the country another young resident of the Land of the Brave, Chanique Rabe won this year’s edition of the Miss Supranational beauty pageant in Poland.
Rabe is the first Namibian and African to win the title from under the noses of 57 women from various countries around the world.
Miss Puerto Rico, Karla Acevedo was the first runner-up, Miss South Africa, Thato Mosehle was the second runner-up.
Rabe was crowned by last year’s winner, Antonia Porsild from Thailand.
Miss Supranational is an annual international beauty pageant that was started in 2009.
Before winning the Supranational title, Chanique was crowned as Miss Teen Namibia and Miss Teen Continents 2015.
